"It’s been a long journey of acceptance"

"Since I was maybe 9 or 10, I’ve been aware of my longer labia. Throughout the years I’ve contemplated labiaplasty, scared that no man would ever truly love me because of my appearance. It’s been a long journey of acceptance of the body that I have.

About two years ago I contracted herpes, which sent me into a spiral of shame and depression. I had to learn to love my genitals over again in a whole new way, listen to my body, and treat it with respect. I reached out to a body positive coach and she turned me on to The Vulva Gallery. I’m so grateful to have a forum where I feel not just normal, but celebrated."
