"I realised that there is no “normal”"

“Growing up I was very insecure about my vulva. I didn’t even know what “labia minora” were at the time, and I thought it was abnormal to have these “extra bits”. I truly considered cutting them off myself with scissors or a knife. I cannot believe I was once willing to put myself through so much pain to remove a part of myself that gives me so much pleasure. I started to gain confidence when I became sexually active, sleeping with men and women who always accepted and enjoyed my vulva as it was. Looking at many photos and exploring other vulvas I realised that there is no “normal” and they are all beautiful in their own way. I absolutely love my vulva now, she is a beautiful flower”
